The purpose of this list is to advance the work of Veterans for Peace and specifically, the Los Angeles Chapter of Veterans For Peace (VFP-LA), around the Arlington West project at Santa Monica and other projects of Veterans For Peace that are instrumental in bringing an end to war as an instrument of national policy.

The general purpose of this list is to send out articles of GENERAL INTEREST and or event announcements to a larger audience. This list is a public list. Anyone can subscribe to this list.

This VFP-LA email list is to be used to facilitate the organization towards those ends, provide information related toward that work, and to provide a forum for lively discussion.

All those that are members of Veterans for Peace, volunteer at Arlington West, or are generally interested in the work and purpose of Veterans For Peace in general, are invited to join this email list. Subscribing is free.

Veterans For Peace Membership: You do NOT become a member of Veterans For Peace simply by subscribing to this email list.

Veterans For Peace, Inc. (VFP) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) educational and humanitarian organization dedicated to the abolishment of war.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

We, having dutifully served our nation, do hereby affirm our greater responsibility to serve the cause of world peace. To this end we will work, with others:

1. Toward increasing public awareness of the costs of war.
2. To restrain our government from intervening, overtly and covertly, in the internal affairs of other nations.
3. To end the arms race and to reduce and eventually eliminate nuclear weapons.
4. To seek justice for veterans and victims of war.
5. To abolish war as an instrument of national policy.

To achieve these goals, members of Veterans For Peace pledge to use non-violent means and to maintain an organization that is both democratic and open with the understanding that all members are trusted to act in the best interests of the group for the larger purpose of world peace.

We urge all people who share this vision to join us.

Any discussion that advocates violent or racist behavior is adequate cause for immediate termination of your subscription to this email list service.

Although Veterans For Peace is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, there is no fee for the use of this list service.

You might consider becoming an annual dues paying member of Veterans For Peace.

Subscribe to VFP-LA by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator.
