Camp Wellstone sounds like an EXCELLENT idea.
Who is interested in attending?
It's May 18-20.

I don't really have time to weigh into this discussion, but I largely agree
with the views expressed by Jeff.
In the short term, I would HIGHLY recommend attending the next Camp
Wellstone in New England. It's affordable camapign training, and they don't
screen out Green Party members (unlike almost every other "progressive"
training program), so I don't think we should screen ourselves out either.
They emphasize grassroots organizing, and I think it's always helpful to
learn from others whenever possible. I am actually thinking of attending
myself even though I don't have any plans to work on a campaign in the near
future. Here are the details:

Greg's posting above raises important questions around how we grow as a
party.
In my view, without an articulated growth strategy we will not sustain,
never-mind grow our party. Like any neighborhood organization we must
organize our vision and purpose in order to achieve our goals.
"...the reality is that what we really have to do is work. Train more
candidates, train more campaign workers, train more fundraisers, and then
put them to work."
I could not agree more with Greg that we have our work cut out for us.
However, to me it is too vague to say "train more campaign workers" and
expect this will bear fruit. It is up to US to articulate and motivate. WE
must clearly define our short and long term achievable goals before we can
expect to motivate anyone enough to want any training we may offer.
Defining our short and long vision, with specific goals, is the dialog I
want to have with Greg and my fellow greens.
All the best,
Jeff
