Hi, Jodi: I'm spreading the word far and wide about RI's version of the
'Raging Grannies." Do I remember correctly that you'll be at the fourth
anniversary anti-war march and rally on Sunday the 18th. If so, I'll see
you there. Thank you. Peace. Richard.

>RI s Raging Grannies

>With songs, humor and passion, RI s Raging Grannies are a group of women
>of a certain age who are working to create a more peaceful and
>equitable society.

>Raging Grannies, with its international roots in the peace movement, are
> available for events, rallies and various activities with song sheets
>in hand to sing new words to familiar tunes. So, the tune to Battle
>Hymn of the Republic turns into an anti-war song. You are My
>Sunshine might be newly scribed to address global warming, and so on.

>It is a way to address issues that we care deeply about, but to do so in
>a way that is fun and that gets people to listen, and, hopefully, take
>action!

>The Raging Grannies began in Canada in 1986 as part of the Extenuating
>Circumstances group, which employed street theater to protest Canada s
>support for American nuclear warships in Victoria, British Columbia.
>Since then, the groups or gaggles, as the movement s groups
>humorously call themselves have sprung up across the globe. RI s
>Raging Grannies is comprised of women you will recognize from their
>years of community work in RI, in the areas of homelessness, violence
>against women, LGBTQQ issues, reproductive freedom, poverty and more.
