What I did is used my own words for the first part of
the TAKE ACTION letter. I just sent a message to get
the troops home now despite Congress' reluctance to
pass that. I don't like this bring them back in 08
sh^t. I thought I'd include how I really feel, but we
do need to bring the Congressional war powers back and
I added bringing Congessional war powers as according
to Article 1, Section 8 back into the Constitution in
my message.
Senator Reed is on the Appropriations Committee.
We should monitor this.

Even though it looks like the House is going to miss
their opportunity to include provisions prohibiting an
attack on Iran without Congressional approval and
mandating US troop withdrawing by the end of the year
in the 2007 Supplemental War Appropriations bill, we
still have a chance to include these important
provisions to the Senate version of the bill. One of
your Senators is the Appropriations Committee, which
means they have the power to help write this important
piece of legislation.

Please take a few moments to send your senator an
email asking him or her to include language dictating
a withdrawal from Iraq by the end of 2007 and
requiring Congressional authorization for any military
action against Iran. Although there will be pressure
from party leadership to write a weak Supplemental War
Appropriations bill that will pass easily pressure
from constituents, like us, can push Senators to take
the kind of brave and principled stances that will
bring our troops home.

Send an email to your Senator now and remind them that
"supporting the troops" means bringing them home, not
keeping them in the middle of an Iraqi civil war or
bogging them down in a larger regional war in Iran.

Thank you for emailing your Senator - together we can
bring our troops home, where they belong.
